Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing our website and placing an order with HotWood Limited, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. These terms apply to all users of the site and all customers purchasing our products.

2. Pricing and Payment

All prices are listed in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and include GST unless otherwise stated. We reserve the right to change prices without notice.

Payment must be confirmed before delivery. We accept card payments processed by Stripe, Afterpay, Internet Banking, and other methods as specified at checkout. For Internet Banking, orders will only be dispatched once funds have cleared in our account.

By choosing card payment, you authorize HotWood Limited to use Stripe as our payment processor for the transaction. Stripe securely processes card payments on our behalf.

3. Checkout Sessions and Order Confirmation

A Stripe or Afterpay checkout session does not by itself guarantee that payment has been successfully completed. Orders remain pending until payment confirmation is received from the relevant payment provider.

If a checkout session is cancelled, expires, or is abandoned before payment confirmation, the order may remain incomplete or be marked as cancelled in our system. You may return to checkout and start a new payment session if stock and delivery remain available.

4. Delivery and Property Access

Delivery is generally restricted to the Waimate, South Canterbury and Waitaki regions as defined in our delivery zones. Delivery fees are calculated based on your location from our base in Waimate 7924.

Property Access Disclaimer: Our delivery vehicles are heavy. Standard delivery is to the kerbside or a stable, easily accessible driveway. Access beyond the kerbside is at the sole discretion of the driver.

HotWood Limited accepts no liability for damage to driveways, paths, underground services, or property if the customer requests delivery beyond the public kerbside. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the delivery area is suitable for heavy vehicle access.

5. Product Quality (The Nature of Firewood)

Firewood is a natural product. While we strive for consistency, variations in size, color, and species may occur. Our wood is seasoned to ECAN standards, but environmental factors during storage after delivery may affect moisture levels.

It is the customer’s responsibility to provide adequate dry storage for the wood once it has been delivered.

6. WINZ Quotes

We provide formal quotes for Work and Income (WINZ) purposes. Generation of a quote does not guarantee a booking or hold stock. Delivery will only be scheduled once we receive official confirmation of payment from WINZ.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law, HotWood Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use of our products or delivery services.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
